Part of your Basic Cable package includes local programming on Coast Cable 11. Here you will find community television programs that are educational, entertaining, informative, and public service in nature.

Coast Cable 11 operates through the cooperation of the Sunshine Coast School District and Coast Cable Communications Ltd. Since 1979, this cooperative arrangement with School District No. 46 has resulted in the training of hundreds of young people. The studio is located at Elphinstone Secondary School in Gibsons. Students enrolled in a Career Preparation Program in Television Production work directly with community members, both in the studio and on location, to cover all sorts of local issues and events. Coast Cable 11's Thursday night "live and interactive" programs invite the viewers to participate in discussions with local politicians and commmunity groups.

Today, many former Elphinstone graduates work in the Canadian broadcast and film industries. Coast Cable 11 has won numerous awards for Excellence in Community Programming.
